We were immensely proud to lay the foundations at Vitality Village in Birtinya last month, partnering with the right people in ComLink, to create a new commercial space that is set to change the way we address health and wellbeing within the community.
As a Sunshine Coast-based community service provider, ComLink will be working with health providers, innovators, researchers and educators to take up space in our five-storey building at Birtinya, which will transform into an Australian-first health and wellness hub.
The $25 million development being constructed by McNab Sunshine Coast, will encompass not-for-profits, private business and public sector tenants all working together to tackle isolation, loneliness and mental health. This will be even more important as the impacts of COVID-19 are being felt across our community.
Construction is expected to be complete by mid-2021, paving the way for a new method in targeting health issues on the Sunshine Coast.
The 4700sqm building will have offices, presentation and events spaces, a community garden and a café for tenants and visitors.
The construction phase will generate 100 full-time equivalent jobs which will be a welcomed boost to our recovering economy, and a further 100 full-time equivalent jobs will be created post-construction.
ComLink’s 180 staff and volunteers will relocate to the building when it opens next year as well as a variety of other health and wellbeing operators like 121 Care and the Character Group, to name but a few.
Leasing spaces are still available and enquiries can be made through Ryan Parry at CBRE Sunshine Coast on 0419 675 758.
